If you want to get to know someone's character you just have to take apart their handywork. (We've already established what kind of character the previous owner of my house was so we'll just move on.) Yesterday I removed that horrific shower stall in my main bathroom. What a difference! It opens the room right up. But, in a corner under the wall track a nasty rotten hole had formed in the drywall. Of course, this means tiles are loose in all directions so this isn't a weekend job. Since I currently have no shower, and baths are a waste of water, I'll have to sort something out soon. But not to worry. I have a plan...

I now have a fully functioning bathroom again. The only problem is, it's in the basement. Because I saved the basement ceiling sheets, they easily went back up in the laundry room and bathroom. I did a good cleaning and installed the shower rod. I only have to put up the shower curtain and I can have my first shower in the basement bathroom. (That's been an honour reserved exclusively for Jasper.) That second bathroom allows me to chip away at the main bathroom - which may take a while.
